Miss you, Alan! Wish it would have been some more years.

Unfortunately we did not know so well - but as far as I can say by the name of this site 'big big heart' everything is said.

Dear Alan, We grew up together and got up to loads of mischief as youngsters. Will have happy memories of your wit and humour. Here's hoping there is a half-pipe in the sky you will be forever skating on. Till we meet again...

PS: don't worry about your big sis. We'll make sure she is ok.

I'm going to miss you big guy. You were always one of my favorite cousins. I will remember your infectious laugh, how you towered over me (more so than most), that time you bleached your hair, the story about the belly piercing, the infamous '20 minutes and a taxi' it took you to get from the beer festival to Sharon’s flat, how we spoke about gaming when I was too young to really speak about much else, when you asked Lynn on the way out the door if there were any skate parks in Ayr and how you always brought 6 cans of Tennents on your visits. A good man, a great cousin. You'll be missed Alan.

Could'nt beleive the news, a huge loss for everyone. One of the best cousins ever. I'll miss all his jokes and stories, his hysterical laugh, his skills at video games and everything simons mentioned back there. I still have the game he gave me years back, might go play it actually :-)

Everyone loved Alan, and won't forget him, and I'm sure hes having fun partying, drinking beer, chatting up some women and skateboarding wherever he is now!

Legend of a guy and will be well missed.

There is a memory that will stay with me forever, its the look on your face (all night;o) when you joined us on a Oktoberfest night out with the girls in dirndls! Glad you were there to share it with us;o)

I'll remember all our fun times in Munich and Scotland over the years. You were never afraid to challenge the status quo (not the band!) and say what you thought and I respect you for that.

Lots of happy memories of when you were all young together, with Carol and Laura. And we have such a memory of the camping holiday in Banff! You were always full of fun and laughter, not to mention mischief! You're sadly missed, Alan, by everyone. Alison, David, Carol, Laura and Barbara (who really fancied you when she was 10 years old!)

I only met Alan once, a year or two ago now, unfortunately I did'nt get to see him again when he, Sharon and Steffen met up with Simon and Ross at christmas.
Although, of the many stories I have heard from the family, Alan was a 1st class guy, I'm just sad that I did'nt get to hear those stories from the man himself.

Hi Alan. I have the same memory of you as Lisa, at the Oktoberfest a few years ago. I only met you the once but Sharon spoke of you so often I thought I had met you more than that! I wish you peace and joy at the big fest in the sky. Save a place for us!
Love Kate

We only met a couple of times, but I remember we had a lot of laughs. So that would be my favorite memory - us in a pub, together with Sharon, having a pint and a good time.
Meanwhile, I just bought a book by that dude Brookmyre, see what that fuss is all about.

Hi Al,

Feels kinda funny talkin to you like this. Should really have done more before.
Fondest memory must be from Grans house in Cambuslang when all the "boys" (as Aunt Anna still calls us), challenged each other to see who could jump from the highest step without inflicting serious injury on ourself or any poor adult who got in the way.
Biggest regret must be that my 2 kids, Natalie(8) and Jonathan(4) never got to meet you. They love skater boys and essentially any nutter who can make them laugh. You fit the bill to a 'T'.

By the way if you see Papa, don't let on that we knew the One-Armed-Bandit in the upstairs back bedroom in Cambuslang was rigged. No wonder he was so keen to give the pile of Pennies every Sunday to get us all out the way for a bit. Worked a treat.

Anyway, see you round Big Al.

Love. Big Cous' Martin

A year on and we're still missing you loads and loads, Alan. So much has happened - but I'm sure you're keeping up to date with it all. I'll never stop looking back on happy times, it's just a bit sad that we can't look forward to happy times with you too.
Forever alive in our thoughts...
